Frank-PTI Modular Line
ModularLine
Frank-PTI’s solution for automatical updating quality monitoring of production, for example using jumbo reel samples, is the so-called ModularLine. Certain models of the measuring devices are designed to be modular so that, in addition to functioning as separate stand-alone benchtop instruments, they can also be mechanically connected in series to form a measurement line consisting of the desired tests. This line also requires a feeder unit for long sample stripes—typically 30 cm-wide cross-direction cuts—which transports the sample from one measurement unit to the next.
The result is a configurable ModularLine automated system that repeatedly performs the same measurements automatically, with the only manual step being the placement of a new reel sample into the feeder.
The number of measuring devices can vary, and thanks to the modular structure, new units can be added to or removed from the line flexibly as needs grow or change over time. Models suitable for the ModularLine can be identified by the “ML” abbreviation in their name.
Unlike some measurements in competing automatic testing lines, the automation of the ModularLine has not been achieved by compromising the measurement methods defined in the relevant standards. Instead, the measurement data it produces is usually fully compliant with the standards, for example through specialized sample-handling solutions.
